What's the difference between Samsung Messages which is what I used on my Galaxy S5 and the Messages+?
As you noted, Messages is Samsung's text app. Messages+ (or Verizon Messages) is Verizon's text app; it provides for backups and syncing across devices, i.e., Take Texting to the Next Level | Verizon Wireless
