Problems with calls and text messaging.

I love this phone. It is the best smart phone I have ever used. I have used three others on AT&T on work phones. Finally decided to pay for the Droid X out of pocket. Very happy so far. The best smart phone I have used to date.

 

I only have had two issues that are a bit troubling:

1) Sometimes when I make a call, it appears to go through but I cannot hear and the party I called cannot hear me and;

2) I have had a couple instances where I cannot receive or send text messages.

 

Both problems can be resolved by rebooting the device, but with the text messages issue, I never know if I am experiencing it until someone askes if I got their text. I do not know if I am missing incoming calls because of this problem.

 

Anyone else?

 

BTW: I turn the device off every night to save battery, so periodic rebooting is not a solution.

Try powering the phone off, then removing and replacing the battery, and powering the phone back on. 

Then try  dialing *228 send and option 2 on the phone to update the PRL.

Then try closing down applications that you are not using on the device.

 

From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).

Touch Settings.

Touch Applications.

Touch Running services.

Touch a service you are not using then.

Touch Stop.

 

From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
Touch Settings.Touch Applications.Touch Running services.
Touch a service you are not using then.
Touch Stop.

 

Repeat steps as needed.
