I had to send my 4 month "old" $700 Galaxy S7 Edge to Samsung for a warranty repair, which I may get back "in 12-14 days". Key word "MAY"! Of course I had to pay for box & bubble wrap to make sure my inoperable phone didn't arrive damaged because Samsung "won't cover phone if it arrives damaged." What a joke, it's ALREADY damaged!. I asked Samsung representative about replacing phone immediately as I'm waiting on job prospects and Samsung rep said "Contact Verizon, they should be able to get you a loaner phone."
I just found out Verizon "no longer provides that service." They just put their logo on the back of the phone and make sure my payments for a $700 paperweight and service are on time or they're sure to contact me the day after payments are due. Beyond that, the Verizon rep just throw up their hands and say "There's nothing we can do." I bought the paperweight at Best Buy through a Verizon rep. I even pay $10 a month for the Geek Squad "protection" racket (which will be cancelled after I write this). The Best Buy rep said "If you pay $150 for deductible, we will get you a new phone." WHAT?! On a 4 month old phone I have to pay your protection racket AND $150 to get a WARRANTY REPLACEMENT?!
The good news is, I only have to pay off this Verizon/Samsung contract (add Best Buy to this list) and then we're DONE! My lesson will have been learned and we will make sure our family and friends know exactly what transpired, how and what (wasn't) done for a hard working family. My family will not be providing money to companies that push a product so hard, only to say "Too bad!" when we're looking for support.
If anyone want's to contact me, you'll have to wait "12-14 days" as that is when I "MAY" have my paperweight returned.
PS I posted the initial phone problem on facebook and was contacted by someone claiming to be a Verizon representative. The response even used the Verizon logo next to their name. They asked me to IM them, which I did. Then they asked for my cell # AND my billing PIN. Which I would not give as they should be able to access my account without my PIN. So here's another "Atta Boy" to Verizon for your secure Facebook coverage...It's about as good as your "customer service"
