Google Talk and Y! messenger

Do using google talk and yahoo messenger charge you as texts when you send messages on them, or is it different such as email and data? Motorola Droid.

Maybe half an answer is better than none.

Google Talk uses data, not SMS. I won't impact your SMS count, but will count against your data plan.

I don't Yahoo, so am not much help there. Sorry.
