Hello: was wondering is there any way I can transfer my text messages from my old phone to my new phone? Also I have a lot saved up on my Memo icon and would like to transfer that too. I had a Samsung S5 and got the S7 now.
Please help.

The option to use Samsung's Smart Switch may pop up during the S7's activation, but if not, you can access it via the phone's Settings, as noted on page 12 of the phone's user manual:

Samsung has a transfer application. You should try that.
