I use the message + app. I just replaced my phone using insurance. My last phone played the sound I wanted for all text messages, it was separate from the default notification sound. The replacement phone seems to not allow me to set a tone for messaging, except under settings>sounds>notification sounds. The messages tone selected is the one I want, but it does not play that sound when I receive a message on the Message+ app.
