I have the High Gloss Silicone Protective Cover on my Droid now but I would like to get the larger battery. Will I still be able to use the cover or for that matter any cover if I get a new battery?
I would assume so. I have purchased an extended life batter for almost every phone i've owned and never had a problem with the phone back fitting or my case fitting on. Of course, i havent bought the extended battery for the X yet so take my assumption as it is intended.
What's the return policy thru verizonwireless online for a battery? you could always try to be sure and return it if it doesnt fit.
I have heard the extra thickness of the x extended battery isnt that bad and most cases should work fine.
I could not make my regular cover go back on with the extended life battery in it (I'm kinda spastic and diidn't want to break it... lol). The new cover is only about 1mm higher on the side that fits in on the middle of the phone. Other side is flush.
I'm using the "leather" cover, the one with the kick stand and it fits nicely with the extended battery.
The only difference I can notice on the batteries is the part number. I have the body glove on my phone with the extended life battery and it fits perfectly.
Just a note: the original battery cover will fit on with the extended battery. But, those that have discovered this, have later discovered that it also puts pressure on the screen. So I would not recommend it.
Now as far as phone covers, what I have seen on the boards is that most phone covers do fit with the extended battery and extended battery cover.
