1. Will the Note 7 eventually get upgraded to Android 7.0?
2. If I decide to keep my phone, and it catches fire or stops working (through no fault of my own), will it still be covered under the 1 year warranty, and will my phone be replaced?
You've come to the right place for answers. The Note 7 is no longer being sold by Verizon Wireless. We will not be supporting further updates for it. We strongly urge you to power down the phone and not use it anymore. Your safety is our highest priority.
I'm assuming there will be no android updates or support for the Note 7.
I don't care, I had the S7 Edge and hated it! HATED IT! I Added a line to my account and gave Edge to my Father to use. Every other device Verizon has right now is crap I want this phone.
I will return all device on my account if you will close it with out penalty.
hopefully Samsung will come out something like Note 7s this year............
The Verizon rep is correct. No support; warranty is void due to the recall. If you keep the phone it is at your own risk; extra protection plans are also void. It is the only reason I turned mine in, or am in the process of...waiting on the box to mail it back.
I'll deal with the Edge for now but even only using the Note for two weeks had me spoiled. I agree, within a year for a new version as Samsung will be looking to recoup the high losses.
PhaCough,
We want you to have a phone that you'll love. We also want you to have a phone that is safe and you can count on though so we would still strongly recommend returning the Note 7. We're committed to finding a solution and keeping you in the Verizon family. What issues did you have with the S7 Edge? We're glad to try and find another device that will meet your needs.

The S7 edge
1) has an ugly, bulbous, rounded chassis
2) has a smaller screen
3) can only fit SD cards up to 200 GB (lol??)
4) lacks a stylus
Issues with the 7edge... the U.S. version is the 32gb, not the 64gb readily available elsewhere in the world. Offer us this one as a replacement for our Note 7s, let us upgrade to the new S8 Plus or whatever takes the place of the Note 7s when they are released - with no penalties, hurry up with our tax, equipment, and insurance refunds, and Verizon might still hold on to some loyal customers.
You have to return it. Verizon is blacklisting the phone. They started sending out this text: This device is not authorized for use. Please activate another device or call 800-922-0204 or service will be suspended but billing will continue
[Removed], Suspend my service and continue to bill me = lawsuit. Just try that Verizon

I have been told by reps that i will be credited ALL monies involved, my account will essentially be like i never upgraded, as i chose not to exchange for another samsung as none have the storage or capacity of anything i do, and the note 7 should be sent to Samsung. I asked what happened if i continued to use and was told I did so on my own risk and that it would not effect any credits from being unable to use as Upgrade due to Verizon's not supporting, insuring, or anything really. Now i am being told that I need to return my note 4 and my note 7 because i upgraded to the 7 and i will be charged the full price of my 4 if i don't. I have tried calling customer service several times, been on hold for 40 min for her to hang up on me, held for another hour trying to reconnect to be told they're having service errors, and currently still on hold for 3rd time tonight, timing at 55.46. I'm sooooo beyond annoyed and feel Verizon needs to honor what i was told by the first 2 reps almost a weel ago. I am considering switching providers due to the complete lack of customer service and circus act when andnif you do ever reach someone. COMPLETE JOKE, SO DONE.

NO!
No support, no updates, no warranty. If it catches fire, legally that will be your fault since you knew the potential and ignored it. As stated above, warnings are being sent that the phone will be disabled.
This is how messed up the whole thing is. Just got off the phone after an hour long conversation with customer services. The rep (Jada, 10/16/16, 7:25 pm est, oh yeah, I am recording this stuff) told me there is no plan to discontinue service for those who keep their Note 7s. To quote, "it's your phone and you can do what you want with it". She said I can use it as I want until a replacement comes out that I want to upgrade to. How much conflicting information is being given by Verizon reps on this? Just curious
Yes, lots of misinformation.
Meanwhile, there are now reports that people's phones have actually been disconnected and not allowed to reconnect

No and No
I got the Google Pixel XL. As a loyal Samsung owner, it eas scary but I wanted a phone that was similar to the Note 7. The s7 is not what I wanted. I am very happy.
Verizon have been very difficult. They gave us all upgrades. That's not the problem. The Problem is no paying for another phone. I had to buy my replacement for $340 when Verizon still had my $300 I paid for th Note 7. Now I read that the box will come @2 weeks after the phone swap. So I'm supposed to b ok with Verizon holding my $300 for 4 weeks. Smh. They wont get paid until i get my money. Just one of many isssues. I feel your pain
If u I keep it and it catch fire or cause harm to you, that is your problem. Samsung and Verizon bothe told you the phon can be unsafe and you chose to keep the phone knowing that. They companies also made you whole. Keep at your own risk!
Samsung will refund u total cost of Note 7 or whatever u paid. They also will refund assessories
LatoyaH, I am glad to hear that you have, and love, your new Pixel. That is certainly great to hear. However, we absolutely don't want you to feel like we are retaining any cost for the device. While the upgrade dates have been reverted back, we have begun issuing refunds for any amounts spent on the device. Have you already sent the device in using the return box?
I have yet to receive the box from Verizon to return my note7. I will try to return at the store firmly today.
