I just upgraded (???) from a Galaxy S5 to a Galaxy S7. First thing I noticed was that when I left the house and came back, my wifi connection had to be MANUALLY reconnected. I believe I got that resolved via settings.
The real SH^**ER is that reception is totally crap if I am not sitting right next to my router with wifi. With my S5 I had GREAT wifi reception ANYWHERE within about 60 feet. No change in download/upload speedtest results either. Download speeds in excess of 80 Mbps, Upload at around 7 Mbps (Charter/Spectrum seems to have skipped the memo stating users REALLY DO WANT/NEED higher uplpad speeds, but that's another story...)
With the S7, if I go to my regular spot out on the deck, about 49 feet from the router, I am lucky to get 2 Mbps Download and .41 upload!!! That's if the connection doesn't drop!
I move 10 feet closer to the router, I MIGHT get 20 Mbps download. Another 10 feet, maybe 25 Mbps. Uploads below 1 Mbps...
UNUSABLE!!!!!
I have tried DNS Set and a few other things I have seen on the web, but nothing seems to make this thing usable for me!
Anyone else have this issue? Any thoughts on resolution?
Thanks in advance - I am about ready to throw this shiny new paperweight through a window - I just can't figure out whose...
