Just a ? with the incredible- when i am on a call the screen will go black. Is this normal? I have to shake the phone to get the screen back.. Not happy about this
The phone has a motion sensor so if you move the phone or move your hand across it it lights back up.

The backlight seting does not have any control over the sensor when you are using the phone. The reason the screen goes black placing the phone to your ear is to keep you from dialing or hanging up the phone by accident.
Now if you are using the speakerphone and the screen is going blank, then Bosslady is correct, it could be the backlight timer.
