Why Can't I Get Rid Of The Activation Incomplete Notification?

I recently activated my new Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. Everything seems to be working fine but I have an Activation Incomplete notification that I cannot clear. I have tried re-starting my phone several time and even completely shutting it down. When it powers on it goes through an activation message (activating phone--do not turn off) and then eventually goes back to Activation Incomplete (your phone will try again when you re-start). I have no idea how to get rid of that notification and it is annoying.

I had tried the above suggestions with no luck. I finally held down the message and it opened to the Set Up wizard. It was hung up on one of the screens. I was able to bypass the screen and the message disappeared.

You can also try turning off wifi and allowing the cellular connection to make the activation attempt. Can you make and receive calls?
