Samsung note 5 Lost charge and will not re charge

My Samsung note 5 completely drained battery. It has been plugged into the charger for over 12 hours and still has zero power. I have cleaned out the charger port with canned air, still nothing. Do I just need to buy a new battery? WTH? This phone is less than 1 year old.
