How well does the 32 GB microSD Card work with the Droid X?

Well, it will give you 16gb more of SD storage space than the 16gb card.. That will give your phone a grand total of 40gb of storage space.
There isnt any diffrence between the 16 and 32GIG cards except the size so it will work the same...
Thanks!
Have you encounter any issues or heard of any issues if you use the Droid X to format the 32 GB microSD Card installed in the Droid X? I do not recommend you do the fomating of the 32 GB Card; just asking for experiences from users of the card.
I always format mine from my laptop, I never trusted the smart phones way of formatting a card and I havent ran into any issues yet doing it this way..
Could you give me some detailed instructions on what you think is the best way to format my 32 GB card? I have one but have not yet attempted to use it. (I am waiting for the Verizon corporate store where I purchased my first Droid X to get more in stock so that I can return/exchange the first one with the bad speaker for another brand new one with a speaker that works.)
My computer is a Dell Precision M6300/Nvidia 3600M running XP Pro (purchased two and one half years ago). I did not know this until just now - apparently, I have a slot on the side of my computer that says SDMMC-MS/Pro-xD. Dell describes this as "5-in-1 Media Memory Card Reader". I also see two other slots that Dell describes as a "smart card slot" and as an "express card slot" respectively. These slots seem large, though the 32 GB card I purchased from Verizon comes with a "full size SD adapter". I have never used any cards of this or any related kinds. I presume the adapter will fit into the SDMMC-MS/Pro-xD 5-in-1 Media Memory Card slot? Okay, but if so, are there different kinds of formats, or different ways to format a single/particular format kind?
If there is more than one way to format the card, can you (Wildman or any other person kind enough to help and give instructions to me as though I were a six year old) please tell me exactly what I might try doing so that it is well formatted for use with a Droid X?
I would deeply appreciate any/all instructions/comments. Thanks in any case.
Yes, without a doubt it does.
I first plugged my 32Gb SDHC micro card into my PC.
Second, I formatted it to FAT32.
Unplugged it fron the PC & installed it into my fabulous Droid X.
Whaaaalah!
Does the FAT32 format (from the PC) for the 32 GB SDHC for the Droid X allow for file sizes bigger than 2 or 3 or 5 GB? I plan to convert one or two DVD movies to files that I can watch on my Droid X.
If I only have an "SDMMC-MS/Pro-xD, 5-in-1 Media Memory Card slot" in an XP Pro computer that is two and one half years old, will it have the right drivers or whatever to format the 32 Gb SDHC for my Droid X? When they made my XP computer, there was only SD, not SDHC. Do you think XP SP3 or any other update for XP would have supplied the requisite drivers? Any speculation as to whether my "SDMMC-MS/Pro-xD 5-in-1 Media Memory Card slot" from a Dell Precision M6300/Nvidia 3600M will appropriately format well an SDHC 32 Gb card for my Droid X? Is my computer/media card reader too old to do that? Is XP Pro SP3 too old to do that? Will I be able to save large movies files (2-8 Gb each) on the FAT32 formatted SDHC card for my Droid X?
I would deeply appreciate any answers, comments, speculations, input, etc. Sorry for asking so many questions. If possible, please try to answer. Thanks.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Droid X!
Just a thought but theres no reason to format the SD card unless your erasing for some reason. I installed my card into my Droid X and have no problems putting movies or tv shows from Blockbuster so not really sure why you would want to format a card that is already to stick in and go. This is my 4th smartphone and have never had any issues read the instructions that come with your SD card ( a note all my cards have come from Verizon and they are packaged for your phone)....Enjoy and good luck!!
It is my understanding that the 32 GB microSD Card is pre-formatted out of the package. Just install it in the Droid X and startup the Droid X. The phone will "prepare the SD Card" for use. No need to format. I do not recommend using the phone to format the microSD Card.
I thought maybe it would be better to have two 16 GB cards but the difference in the current prices of the 16 GB and 32 GB makes the 32 GB attractive.
But I feel that if the 32 GB card needed to be formatted, it would be better to use the computer and NOT the phone.
As for formatting the 32 GB card on the computer (or other actions), the 32 GB Card comes with a USB adapter. Look at the Verizon package. Insert the 32 GB Card into the USB adapter and place the adapter into the USB Port on the computer. Transfer files from/to the computer or format the card if wanted or whatever else you want to do.
