data plan required???????????HELP

does the new kin two m require you get a data package. Im not allowed to get any form of data package and today when i went to the local verizon the guy told me the kin 2 m requires a data package. That confused me since this website says it doesnt. Does it matter if you have a family plan? please HELP

The Kin2M is a feature phone and DOES NOT require data. The person didn't give you the full truth. The Kin can support data but doesn't require it.

As posted in many other forum posts NO you do NOT need a data plan for this phone. I currently have the kin twom and 1. have data disabled via my myverizon website, 2. called customer support and told them to disable data and have verified it is disabled 3. have turned off data roaming on my phone and successfully connected my phone to my own wireless router. Any Customer servers representative or verizon store that tells you otherwise IS indeed wrong. The only explanation I can think of as to why they may tell you otherwise would be they are thinking of the original kin two that DID require a data plan...the kin twom does NOT require a data plan.

In case the last message wasn't clear enough: You DO NOT need a data plan. NO data plan is required. You can order the phone WITHOUT a data plan. Your sales guy was WRONG. He is MISINFORMED. He made a MISTAKE.

The above posters are correct ... no data plan is required. I've confirmed this with more than one CSR. If your local store isn't working with you on this, you can always order online. You will not be required to add the data plan when you order.
