SMS/TXT messages auto reading on Bluetooth can this be disabled?

i'm currently using a BlueAnt S4 handsfree unit and unless I'm losing my mind, I swear my texts would give me an alert tone and i would check them manually. now when I receive one, it automatically reads aloud across my S4 Bluetooth. Any way to disable this?

My Bad!!! Was checking all the phone settings, didn't even open app settings. dang!!! Fixed. It must have turned on when I updated apps firmware. Thanks everyone.

hmm I think iots a bluetooth setting or something in the accesibiti settings menu. I had my phone read me texts when I went to get a contact lens eye exam. My pupils were dialated and I couldnt see anything. nice feature but can get annoying if it stays on,

I am guessing you have the app that goes along with the S4. You need to go into this app's settings and click off the " Read Text Messages" option.
