send text from pc not getting to cell

Chat is spinning forever--30 min-- so I'll try this.

I get alert texts from VZW about me signing in. I also get alerts from FedEX when a package is due to arrive. I get usage alerts from VZW.

I'm trying to send a text from my pc to my cell. It never gets to my cell.

It gets sent from my pc and also shows as being sent from gmail.comWhen I use +1xxx xxx xxxx I get a return from vtext.com saying "Error: Invalid user address"--so it is really getting received by vtext.com---but is it getting sent from vtext.com???? They have not shown up in Verizon Messaging--but then maybe they are not supposed to.

I can send a text to myself from my cell and it gets received in my cell. It also shows up in Verizon Messages. But I can not send from Verizon Messages using Compose nor can I reply to the text. When I click Send nothing happens-- in both FireFox and Chrome.

I tried to send a text using @vxwpix.com and they got received but not displayed--then I realized I needed to send it via vtext.com.

So PLEASE--what am I doing wrong?

rondi7, we appreciate your efforts thus far. We're stepping in to help. Vtext.com lets you send text messages to Verizon Wireless devices from your email. However, it's no longer available as a website that you can use to view and send text messages. I'm the OP. I tried to edit the original message--but no options to do so.

I installed the desktop Message + app and it works fine. So clearly the problem is with VZW vtext.com not working. Please get this fixed.

Thanks for the reply. I have previously read the FAQ's. I am not trying to use vtext.com to compose anything. I am using Thunderbird email program. I just tried vtext,com again it does NOT send it to my cell 10 characters in the text. If I use Message+ it gets to my cell in 5-6 seconds. Same exact cell number--just not thru my Thunderbird to gmail.com to vtext.com where it gets lost. I have verified it is in the sent folder of both Thunderbird and gmail.com, there are no replies to it and nothing in the junk folder.

It must be getting lost in vtext.com and not getting sent. I really don't want to install Message+ on all my puters just to send a text every so often.

I am having the exact same problem - along with many many others. A quick search of this forum will show many many others with the same issue.

No messages sent from a PC using vtext or Vzwpix is working. So far - and for the last several months - Verizon tech people have no clue.
