App Move to SD Not enough storage space

I have a galaxy S7 running android 6.0.1. I have used 16 GB of 32 on internal storage and 1 gig of a 32 gig SD card. After the last android update whenever I try to move an app to the SD card the message is "not enough storage space" I clear the cache first and it still happens. I seem to have plenty of storage available. I would like to move

Did you format the SD card as adaptable storage?

We understand the importance of ensuring you have enough storage to save your personal content. Having only used 1 out of the 32 GB memory card, there should definitely be enough room to store more content. Did you format the card prior to inserting the memory card? Do you get any error messages when trying to save something to the card?
