How can I uninstall apps that won't let you uninstall. I want to uninstall apps but the key uninstall is not active.
If those are preinstalled apps you can not uninstall them because its not allowed..
The Apps which I'm trying to uninstall are CarDock and city ID.
Those fall under the preinstalled apps that can not be removed... You can block Card Dock from auto starting when put in dock with Dock Nothingness from the market but there isnt anything you can do about City ID.
Have you tried dragging them to your home screen then into the trash can that appears at the bottom of the screen?

Actually you can uninstall apps that way but it only works on apps that are not locked in the system from being installed, if you drag a icon to the recycle bin and hold it for a few seconds you will see the option to uninstall the app.. But once again the Car Dock and the City ID apps are locked to the device so all it will do is pull up the same menu you get if you try to uninstall it normally and the unistall option will still be grayed out.
It really is unfair that there are pre-installed apps on any cell phone by any company that can not be removed. Apps that we know that we shall never, ever use, such as City ID. When we buy a new computer, there is a load of pre-installed programs that we can easily get rid of. Maybe, one day, all these cell phone companies, such as Verizon, will give us the option to remove these unwanted apps from our phone...but I doubt it...money talks louder than customer complaints.
Maybe this is a Launcher Pro option but I thought the default dock had this option also... Look at option above recycle bin at bottom of shot..
Wildman, Thanks for the help!!
Glad to help...
