How can I use regular voicemail without getting the consent prompt to upgrade to visualvoice mail? I always click the decline button and it still keeps asking me to use it.
The "notification" that you are opening is the VVM app notification. Although you have not subscribed, it's on the phone as the default voicemail.
Go into your settings > apps > and find the Visual Voicemail app. Disable it (I don't think you can uninstall it, but do that if you can; otherwise, disable). That, and NOT tapping the app icon notification, will stop the prompts.
Dial *86 to access voicemail. You can set up a contact called Voicemail and make it a favorite or a shortcut on your homescreen for quick access.
I'm sorry that you're constantly getting the prompt for visual voice mail on your device ljames62. We will need to remove the Visual Voice mail feature from your line. I have sent you a direct message so that we can gather some information to help get this updated on your account.

There's a couple options here you can do right from your phone and My Verizon account in regards to your Visual Voicemail. You would be able to remove it directly from your account online and you can see how by referring to "Using Visual Voicemail" item 8 here https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/visual-voice-mail-faqs/.

thank you for your response. However this won't work because I've never subscribed to Visual Voice Mail.The problem I have is every time I get a voice mail message, it tries to get me to sign up. I constantly hit "decline" and it won't stop asking.That's what I'd like to go away.Can you help with that by chance?Thank you! :smileyhappy:
