How to scan a QR Code with Galaxy S 7

How does one scan a QR code with the Galaxy S 7.

I thought I just needed to take a picture of the code, but when I do all I get is a picture of a QR code.

If I need an additional app, what is a good one?

Never needed this before, but now that restaurants are using a QR code instead of giving out menus, the need is there.

I have always used an application. If there is something built-in to the OS or camera, I'm unaware of it.

What application do you use?

I've tried several different applications over the years, but the only one I currently have installed is the Google Lens application.
