Have short codes changed format or does anyone know what these numbers are?
This person is referring to phone numbers that are showing up with the last four digits are 0000. I'm having the same problem.
Please help
We'd need some additional details on what you're seeing. Are these calls you're receiving or texts? If you're using VZ Call Filter, are these calls being blocked, flagged?

I to wonder why or what type of message it is. In my scenario they are received text no phone calls. they appear to be sporadic. They end with 0000 for example ###-###-0000.
Yes, you are correct. One of my lines have been receiving them for at least three months - 102 to be exact. I'm not sure what was before that because I can't retrieve logs older than three months. I was not sure if this was coming from some social media app or another texting application direct to the phone number. They are all texts - no pics - and there are no calls associated with them. If you find out anything, please let me know.
Exact same thing I have going on currently. I tend like you to think they are either a text to email or social media app. I did spend a considerable amount of time on the phone with Verizon which ended without a clear answer. I will pass on anything I find. My hope is that someone on here has had the same issue and can offer further information.
I have noticed a few of them are similar to short codes will show up on the message log and I do know that one is the short code from CVS..there are plenty of others as well but if you break them down to 5-6 digits almost all of them are not registered short codes..the confusing thing is that there are still 5-6 digit short codes showing up on the message log as well so if the formatting changed than when they export the data would it not apply to all 5-6 digit numbers?
Short codes can be looked up through various online directories. It was just a thought of the number ending in 0000 could be an email to text. I do not think they are short codes being short codes register on the usage log and there would be no reason for a re-format into a number ending in 0000 as you stated. I was really hoping that someone from Verizon that has knowledge on this topic would share their thoughts.
If I download as spreadsheet the current usage right now I see short codes but no numbers ending in 0000. I think what I'll do is wait until the day before the end of the period and download to spreadsheet again. Than after the 15th when it becomes "previous usage" I'll download again and compare..
For grins, I took one of the numbers ending in 0000 and sent it a text from my Android phone and the text went to its destination. Of course, I never got a response back, but the text was sent successfully. These texts ending in 000 are coming to another one of my phone numbers and that phone is an iPhone - not sure if any of that makes a difference either.
I think I might have figured something out. If you strip the 0's out of the phone number - to where there is only the 5-6 digit number, enter that number into the "To" of a text message, type "help" in the message body, and then hit send - most of the time it will come back with the institution that it belongs to, i.e. PayPal, CVS, etc.
I hope this gives some peace of mind. It does not work on all - but most.
I agree..So far, halfway through the cycle if I "download as spreadsheet" the current text log there are no numbers ending in 0000 only the "proper" 5-6 digit short code(s). I have stripped the numbers of zeros and they do match, most of them anyways as I posted back on 8/03. Unfortunately I broke the rules and my post was edited and the examples I gave were removed..my bad..I believe its in the formatting when Verizon compiles the data at the end of the cycle...all or most are formatted as 10 digit numbers hence the additional 0's.
The other thing I have found interesting - at least with the current active online file is yesterday there was a number that had sent a text, but today that number and a few others are not showing up in the active log. Thoughts??
They are coming in as texts.
