Delayed text messaging through imessage

I've been having a problem with text messages being delayed through imessage with just one other iphone. The problem has been going on since last Thursday, 9/4. I can send texts to the other person and they are recieved promptly, but I do not recieve texts for 1-3 days and then they come all at once. This is very annoying! We are both in zip code 44256 and both using Verizon.

Being able to send and receive text messages is very important and something that we want to make sure you have the ability to do. Has your phone completed any recent software updates? Are you having any problems sending and receiving text messages to anyone that is not another iPhone user? No software updates. Already tried resetting the network settings, restarting and resetting my phone. The problem is only between my phone and one other. I have no issues with other iPhones, apple devices, or android phones. Two of the texts came to my email address through Verizon from vzwpix.com even though they were sent through imessage. When the delayed texts come in texting resumes working for awhile and then stops again.

Thanks for trying all those trouble shooting steps verizonsucks. I know this is frustrating but we are here to help. Did the other person check their phone settings, messaging applications, and contact their wireless provider to check for issues? Does your phone have the latest software?

I am on version 6.1.3. The other phone is current. Neither of us have any issues texting with anyone else. Today I received texts from Thursday through this morning all at once and also in a different order than they were sent.

That's quite strange! Have you tried removing & readding each other in your contact lists? Do you have the area code for your numbers programmed in without a 1 for both of you?

We have deleted and re added contacts. No 1's in front of the numbers. The delay is longer over the weekends (3-4 days). During the week 1-2 days.

This is very strange behaviour for iMessages to have! Can you please do me a favor and update your phones again? Apple just released a new software version and it may just fix this.
