My contract was up for five years and I lost my phone. I was just going to buy a replacement with cash, but there was a great offer on a Samsung Galaxy S5 that would really not bump up my monthly bill. I would pay $150 for the phone and receive a $50 rebate in the mail. The catch is I would have to sign a new contract. So I did. The CSR told me I would receive a rebate card in the mail in 6-8 weeks. After 8 weeks I had not received my card. I called Customer Service, who sent me to Rebate Center, who sent me back to Customer Service. They said I did not fill out the form and send it in. I explained that I was not given a form. They told me that I could go to my online account and print it from My Documents section, then submit it and it would be fulfilled. The form was not in the My Documents section. Finally I found a form and properly submitted the rebate. My rebate was denied. I talked to the online chat CSR and they told me I did not get the envelope postmarked by the appropriate date. But the only reason for that is because Verizon withheld the form from me and lied by stating that I will receive my rebate by mail. The online CSR says it didn't matter if Verizon lied to me or not because I did not meet their requirements. Basically, "we can lie cheat and steal, and if you do not catch us by our deadline it's on you." This is a total scam. Verizon would rather lose me and everyone I know as a customer for life than pay me the $50 rebate they owe me. This is exactly the reason I have not renewed my contract for the previous five years...because I already new they would screw me over in some way. How can I get Verizon to own up to their debts?
