Are grandfathered unlimited plans getting throttled? Now I’m having issues with videos loading in areas I never had a problem. FaceTime through the network is now more unstable than it has ever been.

It’s only with my devices that are 5g capable. My older iPhones on my account that are 4g out perform my 5g devices. It happens all of the time.

Is it possible you have the 5G capable devices set to use 5G only and not automatic band selection for whatever happens to be best at the location? If something is forced to use 5G only, can make it run strangely.

Happy Monday! We know the importance of managing your devices, especially if you are encountering performance issues. We are here to help.
Please elaborate, what exactly is happening with your 5G capable equipment? What shows they are underperforming in comparison to your 4G devices?

I don't think you're being throttled unless your plan specifically states you'd experience slower data speeds if the network is congested, or there is some kind of data cap/overage usage statement in it. However, I do believe legacy plan customers are now at lower priority on the towers than the current plan customers. But on the other hand, aren't legacy plan customers getting perks included in their plan pricing which current plans don't have, where people on current plans have to pay extra for said perks? So it works both ways.
