WiFi Calling - people can't hear me

Ok, after reading dozens of forum questions related to this, no one has seemed to find a solution other than leaving Verizon and going to ATT (I'm close!). I want to try get this to work.

Has anyone found a good fix? One guy said put plane in Airplane mode, then connect to WiFi. I will be trying this when I'm home as I'm traveling now.

For anyone at Verizon reading this:

I can hear people perfectly 100% of the time.

After 5 seconds or 10 minutes (no set length of time) I either sound like a robot to them or I cut out completely. I can hear them saying hello, hello, until they or I hang up.

My house has terrible cell coverage, please add a tower. WiFi calling worked flawlessly for 2 years. Out of the blue, boom. Issues.

I had my ISP do everything they could to help. New fiber to my house, new upgraded modem/router (business grade) and trouble shooted as much as they could.

I upgraded from iPhone 13 to a 15 hoping that would fix it. Literally first call made it cut out 10 second in. Wanted to throw my phone through the window.

From the many articles I've read, this is a Verizon issue. Please fix or I'll be leaving. I work from home, can't be leaving my house to make important calls.

What you're describing is caused by poor signal strength on cellular service.  If you work from home and it's where you use your phone the majority of the time, then switching carriers may be the best option.  All the big guys will allow you to trial their service if you haven't been a customer in the past 90 days and your phone is eSIM capable and unlocked, so if you're able to test drive someone else's network, couldn't hurt.

As for WiFi calling, have you or your ISP checked that the WiFi is in the 2.4 GHz range?  This is important because if the WiFi is in 5 GHz or something else, then WiFi calling on a Verizon phone at least doesn't work based upon another thread I read where someone else was having problems with WiFi calling not working and that was their solution.  To make sure your phone is not using cellular service, you'd have to try enabling airplane mode or shutting off cellular data.

P.S. - Have you tried changing the network band on your iPhone to "LTE" so the phone only uses LTE and not 5G, to see if that improves your call quality at all?  The older LTE technology is better at traveling further and is better at getting through walls than 5G.

Thanks for the reply. We have tried both 5g and 2.4 separately.  This is strictly on wifi calling, the fix proposed to me was to turn off my cell tower when connected to the WiFi to eliminate it from jumping back and forth. I am religious about doing that now. I have done airplane mode as well, to ensure I'm only connected to WiFi. Still having issues. Like I mentioned before, I upgraded phones with the same issue. Recently I went from my Fiber provider to Spectrum to see if that was the issue. First phone call went well, I was exited that it was fixed. Second phone call, exactly the same.  Within 10 seconds they couldn't hear me, but I could hear them flawlessly. I can be sitting in a chair 2 feet from my modem/router and have this happen. Strangely enough, when I'm calling a landline, never a problem. I can talk to landlines for an hour and never happens. Only when I'm talking to others on cell phones. Now, one would quickly say it's them. Not a chance. I work from home, so I'm often talking to the same people. I'll walk half way down my block where I get more bars and we can talk for 30 minutes. Back on my WiFi, cuts out again 10 seconds or 10 minutes. No pattern to rely on. Very frustrating. People in other threads all over the internet explain this exact issue that I have.

We're sorry to read that you are having issues with your calls. Could you tell us if this only happens to your device? When did this issue start?
