5G to LTE switching, poor signal, drops

About to lose it with switching between 5G and LTE in my local area (Zip 19365).  We are on the edge of 5G coverage throughout my town.  My home is 4G LTE and uses a hotspot for enhanced cellular data.  Traveling around the area is infuriating.  I am constantly moving between LTE and 5G service areas, and 3G areas.  When passing though cells, data can hang completely, calls corrupt or drop, etc.   I often have to turn off 5G entirely so that it is not trying and failing to connect to the weak signal.  LTE is better, but even that can be a problem.   If I go 10 minutes to the East, there is no problem.  Insane.

The worst part is I left Verizon years ago for AT&T, then finally switched back after 15 years.  Not impressed.

Is your phone a BYOD, or did you buy a new Verizon phone?  The coverage map shows that ZIP code as being mostly 5G, so unless you're next to the river (bodies of water can be problematic for cellular service), not sure why your device is constantly swapping around between bands.  Just as an FYI, 3G has been retired by all US carriers so is not factoring into your service issues.

Having the same problem in north east MA on the coast.  Will constantly fail to make calls and drop calls when phone is switching between 5g and lte which can happen multiple times in the course of 5 minutes.  Had a call drop 6x on me a few weeks ago in during a 8 mile ride where there never used to be an issue.  Seriously considering switching carriers.
