There's a dead zone at the intersection of North Salem Rd and Hilltop Rd at the border of North Salem NY and Lewisboro NY.
41.306797, -73.614339
41.306393, -73.611307
Signal drops to zero bars (and SOS) across multiple Verizon iPhones both outdoors and indoors in the surrounding area.
Moving to this area and would like to keep Verizon service, but apparently AT&T and T-Mobile are better in this particular location.

So far I’ve tried:
- Reboot phone
- Turn on roaming on and reboot
- Reset network settings and reboot
- Switch from 5G Auto to LTE
Both iPhones are modern 5G phones.
Apparently the previous owners of the house use T-Mobile.
I think there just isn’t a tower near enough.

These are the GPS coordinates of the intersection and the dead spot:
41°18'24.5"N 73°36'51.6"W
What's the location of the nearest cell tower?
Thank you.

Thank you for this information. How far from your home location do you have to travel before you get reliable signal? Is signal better if you step outside? ~Peter

Outside is slightly better than inside, but the signal comes and goes throughout the entire neighborhood on Hilltop Road. If you drive around Hilltop there's no signal most of the time. We tested that on 3 different days driving around.
On North Salem Road (NY-121), if you drive a 1/4 of a mile in either direction from that intersection (41°18'24.5"N 73°36'51.6"W), you get a good LTE signal. Good enough to do anything you need. But at and around the intersection the signal drops off pretty much entirely.
I really don't want to switch to T-Mobile because Verizon is so much better basically everywhere else. But having a cell signal in your neighborhood is important for safety with children and so forth.

Thanks for sharing those details with me, nylj2. It looks like we might have to take a closer look into the expected coverage in this area. Since we will need access to some different tools that can be found on your account, please be on the lookout for a private message from us.

Is there any update on this dead spot?

It looks like the closest cell tower is about 2.5 miles away. This entire stretch of North Salem road has poor coverage. It’s an ideal place to put another tower.
