Dropped calls 2025 Arlington VA 22205

Lived in the 22205  part of Arlington for 16+ years , rarely had issues with coverage. Since early Feb 2025 , more dropped calls in past 30 days than in all the prior time with Verizon cellular. 

Have upgraded old plan, have changed to new phone , nothing different … low bars , -112 dBm , what is going on with cell towers in North Arlington and McLean?

Did you get a new SIM card or new eSIM when you upgraded your service plan and phone?  If not, could be that your old card is "stuck in the past" and not current with the latest network technology.  Or your account needs to be reprovisioned so your phone "knows" to use all the available spectrum.

I got an eSIM card and my phone worked for a while, then dropped calls again. Every solution or fix Verizon comes up with fails eventually.

Totally new phone and already resynced to make sure the new phone and account knew to use the new spectrum and features; the second service tech an I walked thru that after the service didn’t improve with the new phone and new plan

Hello, sdefife, we know dropped calls are an inconvenience! You mentioned this has been going on for about a month. Is this happening at a certain location? Are calls dropping with incoming and outgoing calls? Are you experiencing dropped calls both indoors and out?

Incoming and outgoing calls. All at my house where we’ve lived for more than 15 years without this issue. . Doesn’t matter which room or if I’m on the porch. I have had three extended calls with service : 1) told me I had to change phones and plans; second walked thru the reset of the system to make sure the new phone synced to the new expanded services ; 3rd at least told me I wasn’t crazy and there was work happening at some towers in nearby McLean.   Every day I get an email that says service disruptions in our area to be resolved by the next twelve hours - repeated 2x a day every day only pushing it back every day.

you can Call me … on my phone but better if we have a web call .

LOL. When Verizon tries to call me back after being on the phone and the call drops, my phone doesn't ring! And it's not because I've silenced it or the volume is low or it's on airplane or do not disturb mode. Nope. Just can't receive calls all of a suden.

Update - after more hours in text exchange with service team - clarity has come in that the new phone and new plan bit “to solve my dropped calls” seems to have been a complete ruse to get us to un knowingly lock in for three more years . Needing to escalate to higher level because now I am getting upset enough to abandon this company after 15-20 or more years

I'm not surprised, sadly, that you were duped. I'm curious which carrier you'd switch to because I'm ready—after 27 years with Verizon.

I have also have signal issues in 48124 zip. Been told have been working on it, always revised to 12 hours later. Even notified by engineer that a problem was discovered and would be fixed. Well did not fix issue. Back to stating it will be repair 12 from now only to be push 12 hrs. Very frustrating, if I didn't get to pixels paid over 3 years , I would leave service after over 18 years.

Picking this back up a month later … same issue . Monitored one day as I walked down my street and watched block by block the signal go from 5GUW solid to 5G to LTE to one tiny little bar. Dozen dropped calls the past week. Getting ready to investigate switching providers
