I thought Verizon bought Tracfone, so you would have been a 3rd party customer on Verizon's network? Unless Tracfone was using one of the other guys networks (Google says they have at least historically used all 3 of the large carriers' networks) where you are. MVNO customers always get the lowest tower priority, so even if your phone had a 5G symbol showing, it probably was low-band 5G which runs about the same speeds as LTE.
Are you using the $50 prepaid unlimited plan with Verizon now? If so, prepaid customers are deprioritized (but not as deprioritized as the MVNO customers) and if you're not in at least a midsize city, it's hard to get 5G.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

I'm sorry I said 50 a month I meant 75 a month and I just got this new phone in May, my TracFone was lightning fast for downloads and stuff while this new phone just as slow as it can be , and no I'm not on pay as you go , but I was with TracFone , I made a big mistake ,and yes I'm in the same area as with the TracFone
