Poor Cell Service Near My Home

GingerBeardMan

There is an area that I frequent near my home where I am not able to get cell service. Even though I have 2 bars of 5G, I get nothing. It is inconvenient as the area includes my children's school, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. I chatted with someone from customer service but all they did was have me switch to LTE, which didn't prove to be reliable either. I hope that Verizon plans on building new infrastructure to support their 5G network in this area soon or I will be switching carriers. Can anything be done to mitigate the poor coverage in my area?

One of our main goals is to provide reliable service, and we are concerned to learn that you are experiencing issues. To better assist, please tell us a little more. When did it start? What model is your device and is the software up to date? What services are impacted?

Dead zones can occur anywhere and there are a variety of causes.  Verizon is probably aware of the problem on some level if you've reported your ZIP code to them saying you have a dead zone, but network upgrades or installing new towers is a case of "Rome wasn't built in a day".  Do any other carriers work in the area you're having problems?

If you aren't able to get reliable service in many of the places you frequent, but someone on a different network can, it's time to port, because you're otherwise going to have to wait who knows how long for network improvements to take place.
