Since upgrading to an IPhone 16pro my service has been terrible, much worse than with my old iPhone 13. I live in a big urban area that has supposed excellent coverage of 5G according to Verizon’s coverage map. However frequently my phone can only connect to LTE with only 1-2 bars. If my phone does connect to 5g it is also usually only 1-2 bars. And the data is very slow!! Is there any issue with these phones or just me?!

Hello Mkkestell, this is not the first impression we wish to make with your new device. New devices should help improve the connectivity, not worsen it. We're here to help, does this issue only happen in a certain area or during a specific time of day?

It’s definitely worse indoors. But it’s pretty consistently worse than my old phone.

Has Verizon tech support re-provisioned the eSIM on your iPhone? If you're only getting LTE in a 5G area, the possibilities are that your new phone doesn't know to use all the available spectrum, or you're being deprioritized on the network based upon the service plan you have (Unlimited Welcome customers get lower tower priority than those on the top 2 service plans, and prepaid customers are deprioritized to all postpaid customers).
You can also check what band your iPhone is running on by going to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice and Data and change the option. I would suggest "5G Auto" so the phone will automatically select the best spectrum to use. There are more subtle tweaks like Smart Data Mode and allowing more data usage for videos from what I found elsewhere:

We are having a similar issue. We had iPhone 14s with great service in our neighborhood but as soon as we switched to iPhone 16 pros, the service instantly got really bad. Places that we used to have no issues now are issues. Extremely frustrated.

Hi, I'd ask Verizon to re-provision your eSIM per my earlier post, and also to check that your carrier settings are up to date in your iPhone 16.

We are having the same issue. We had great service and then when we upgraded to the 16 Pro it instantly became horrible.

I have noticed that VZW has been super slow since I got my iPhone 16 Pro. I have reset the Network settings and all the normal diagnostics stuff that I was taught when I sold phones. What's the deal? I pay $160 a month... at this point thinking about jumping ship.
