Battery life and apps questions for Droid

Hi all,

Have had my Droid since Saturday now. I have found the battery for this phone to be not so great...Is it just me or does it die in a day when you use all the bells and whistles on it? A car charger apparently with this phone is a must, I think.

Also, when you delete your email on the Droid it also deletes it in your computer's inbox. Is there a way to change that?

Facebook notifications, have them set, but aren't notifying me of FB updates.

Any suggestions?

Don't own a Droid yet -- shopping for one -- but I did google an article on battery life and saw that GPS is set on "on" right out of the box, and turning it off greatly diminishes the battery drain.

Eager to hear anyone's response about the erased email -- that was a toggle function in BBerry, so should be here, yes?
