Is there a way (without an app) to customise Ringtones by individual Contact?
If an App is required, what is a good one to use, I saw one 'lite" version (Ringer) but the Pro was not yet available.

create a folder called "ringtones" this way your custom ringtone will show up with the stock ringtones.
if you put your custom ringtone in with your music, you will have to endure the 15 sec bit everytime you randomly listen to songs.
then do what logic suggested to put a specific ringtone for a particular person
Display the contact then touch Menu->Options.
You can change the ringtone by editing the contact.
- Go to your contacts list
- Select the contact
- Move the cursor to the contact name
- Push down on the trackball to view the menu options
- Select Edit
-Go to the Custom Ring Tones/Alerts
- Select Phone
- Push down on the trackball
- Select Ringtone
- Push down on the trackball to see the tones available, select the tone you wish to use
The remaining fields will default to your active profile, to override the settings (such as volume):
- Push down on the trackball, select preference
-Select "Try it" to review your settings
-Select the back arrow to bring up the confirmation menu
- Select "Save" and your changes are complete.
