Does anyone know a way to get rid of unwanted applications like kindle, skype, or vz navigator?

The only way I know of requires voiding the phone's warranty and that cannot be discussed in these forums.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

If they are apps you installed, this can be done one of two ways, go into your market, hit menu>downloads, find the app you want, click it, then click uninstall. Or, from your homescreen, menu>settings>applications>manage applications, find the app, click it, click uninstall. For factory installed apps, what she said ^^

Unfortunately the pre-loaded applications can not be un-installed without voiding your warranty.

Warranty is already up. How do I get rid of NFL pro and other unwanted apps?

Seems to be generic canned in responses...you know what I like about forums???  People talking back, not robots.

What has my skivvies in a knot is that with the last update apps were added and I had no say in the matter.  When I bought the phone I was aware that there were apps that I would not use/be able to delete and I understood that when I signed the contract.  I can not find in the contract where apps could arbitrarily be added and no opportunity to accept or decline.  I have no problem with OTA updates to improve OS/SW but adding bloatware is a crock of krap!  The store sales rep I talked to gave me "alot of people wanted those apps".  I told him I am part of the "alot of people" and I do not want the apps.  He just gave the eyes in the headlamps stare and I walked out the door before my blood pressure elevated to steaming.

As I stated on another thread, I still find it puzzling that the "professionals" here will not admit that there was a big problem with the last update to the Ally.

I don't know why that would be puzzling.  A true professional tows the party line.

devious,

I hope that was said with "tongue in cheek" as I have other descriptive terms for those that "toes the party line"

I see in another thread that 2.2 is just a few weeks away for the Ally.  I still ain't holding my breath on that one.:smileymad:

For me, my sense of smell of LG has started making my nose detect some unpleasant odors.

I'm with you!  TOO many useless apps!  No way to get rid of them without voiding the warranty.  I get that.  BUT - is there a way to "hide" them anywhere?

I'm thinking you could probably stuff them in the Trash can at the bottom of the page.  They would still be installed byt you wouldn't see them on the Page.  Probably need some research on policy though.

Yes, go to Market, and do a search on "hide app".

If you are using Launcher Pro it gives you the option to hide unwanted apps from the app tray.  Goto desktop/Left Menu Button. Prefrences/General Settings/Hidden Apps.

I have stuffed several of the apps/widgets in the trash that I don't use (twitter, facebook, Amazon mp3, visual voice mail, htc stocks, weather clock), but they are STILL in the applications list and using internal phone storage. Storage that I could use for other applications.

Have not found a way to remove them from your phone but there is an app called "Launcher" that has the option to hide the app icons from your menu.
