but the music in it is stuff from Limewire I dropped and clicked. Do I still have to convert to mp3 before I sync it to Droid, anything else that would help?

You should just leave the songs as is. I dragged & dropped music from Limewire into iTunes.Then from iTunes into my Android music folder.worked perfectly.
I know this is going to sound terrible, but I find immense glee when reading the title.
Anyway, you should be able to just drag and drop (in a music folder or not) and it'll recognize the music that is there.
