I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and am trying to add a device in my Gizmo app. To do this, I have to type in the password for my Verizon account.
My password is over 10 characters long. When I type it into the "Password" field, I get an error that says "Password is invalid - at least 8 characters." Let me be clear: there are over 10 characters in the password text box, but the app thinks there aren't even 8!
So I started experimenting to see what characters cause the app to miscount. Result: most of them except for the ones in the list below.
The following special characters will NOT cause the Account Password text field in the GizmoHub App to error:
exclamation mark !
question mark ?
at symbol @
ampersand &
dollar sign $
asterix *
percent sign %
octothorp # (I'm old)
If any special character outside of this list is used, the Password field will not recognize it, and you will not be able to log in to your account.
On the website, there are a lot of other acceptable special characters. And if you use one of them in your password, you won't be able to log into your account in the GizmoHub app.
This same problem may exist in the screen that lets you change your password in the "My Verizon" app.
I used my password (which includes a special character not on the above list) to log in to my account in the app. After that I set it to use Face ID so I haven't had occasion to test that log in again. However, when I try to change my password to something with a character from the above list, it says that my old password is invalid. (The "old" password being the same one that lets me log in to Verizon on my laptop.)
I can verify this is true on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, I have no idea if it's true anywhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to post this, I've been having the same issue and have been going mad trying to figure out what to do. I'm annoyed at the solution (changing my PW) but happy to feel validated that someone else has this issue. I have a Pixel 7 Pro FWIW
