Calls go into voicemail before I can answer

I just upgraded to the iPhone 16. I will hear my phone ring 2 times and when I try to answer the call it is already in voicemail. The callers tell me it didn’t even ring on their end but went directly into voicemail. It is not on do not disturb or silenced. Please help me,

Is this occurring while you are using cellular service, or WiFi? If it only happens while you are on cellular service, a common cause is poor signal strength causing calls to be unreliable because your phone is getting disconnected from the network sometimes. If it is happening while you are on WiFi and have WiFi calling turned on, may be an IPv6 issue with your ISP and how Verizon does WiFi calling.

Hello! Getting your calls is important. Checking the Do not disturb and the silence was a great start. There is also a setting that will silence unknown calls that is worth checking out. This can be found under Settings > Apps > Phone > Silence Unknown Calls. You can turn this off and have your caller attempt to reach you again.

When did you start having these issues and what led up to them occurring? -James

I an aware of the silence unknown calls and this was not turned on. I have been having there problems after turning on and off the do not disturb. I have just rebooted the phone and it now seems to be working for now. Thank you
