Hello,
I am a small business owner who runs a waters ports company in Florida. I just switched to Verizon and since then I have been getting calls that rings once, then hangs up. Its from all different area codes, and when I call back either it doesn't ring at all, or someone answers but doesn't say anything but I can hear noise in the background, or they hang up on me! We are in a tourist town so I get calls from all different area codes across the country so I have to call back because I don't know if they are a customer wanting to book parasailing. Just today, I have gotten 6 calls, all different US area codes, in a row that rang once and thats it. I call back and either get someone who says they didn't call, or it doesn't ring at all, or it goes to voice mail. Does anyone know what is going on?! I am a very frustrated business owner who doesn't know if this is a Verizon issue, a criminal issue, or if my phone is messed up?! Any helpful input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!

These one-ring hangup calls are from spoofed numbers. I'm guessing your line is a business account, and it has some kind of anti-spam or anti-robocalling feature enabled on it. When a robocall or spam comes in, the call filtering feature is ending the call for you. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to keep the junk calls from not ringing your phone at all, which is why there's one ring before the blocking function kicks in.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
