Group text message problems. Android to iPhone

I am not sure if this is the correct place to pose this question but I am looking for a solution to our recent group text issues. We are a mixed household with Android and one iPhone. The androids are an S23 ultra and S24 ultra that both use Google messages and the iPhone is an iPhone 13 that uses imessages. Recently the iPhone received an update and the group text does not work. The iPhone can send texts to but does not receive any texts from the androids.

This only happens in group texts not one to one texts. Is there some new setting that must be enabled to now allow Android to iPhone group messaging? I would like to get this fixed as it will also impact my work related messages. Any help is appreciated.

One detail to add, we have used Google messages for at least a couple years so we are not new this app

Hello, Dee102, we know how important it is for you to receive all of yoru messages! Is this happening both on and off WiFi? You mentioned the iPhone software was recently updated. What software version is being used on the phone? When checking Settings>Apps>Messages is MMS Messaging still turned on?

If the iPhone isn't using the latest iOS (18-something), then it will have a problem getting texts in RCS format, which Google Messages uses by default.  iOS versions which were before 18 don't support RCS.  You also want to make sure you have SMS and MMS enabled on the iPhone, since iMessage is only for texting between iPhones and Android phones cannot use this format.

The iPhone user had RCS turned off. Once that was turned on the chat worked well.
