New phone won’t activate pending order

I ported my number from my employer’s  Verizon business account to a new personal account I opened at Verizon. Received port pin, completed all steps, received message transfer complete. Go to Verizon store, purchased new phone to attach to new account, as I have to turn in old phone to employer. New phone will not active due “pending order” on account. Two tickets created after hours in the store on three different visits and them spending hours on phone with Verizon. Still no resolution. Old phone still working, but I have to turn it in, new phone won’t activate. Completely stuck.

My guess is because the number was under a business account, it is tied to your employer and porting it to a personal account is a more complicated issue than a usual port.  Have you tried contacting your company's IT department, as maybe they have a direct contact person with Verizon who can work on properly transferring the number out?  Your employer probably has to authorize a transfer of service before the number can be ported to a personal use situation.  The Verizon reps who hang out at the forums cannot access business accounts.
