Dear Verizon Community Forum Members,
I hope this message finds you well. As a student from Pakistan, I am writing you in need of assistance regarding an Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max that I recently purchased.
I recently acquired a brand-new, box-packed iPhone 15 Pro Max from what seemed to be a reputable seller. However, to my dismay, I discovered shortly after that the device has been blacklisted, rendering it unable to connect to any network. This has left me unable to utilize the device as intended.
After thorough research and consultation, I have come to understand that the device's IMEI has been placed on the blacklist, likely due to previous issues. I assure you that I was unaware of this situation when I made the purchase, as I purchased this box pack and was not familiar with it.
I kindly request your assistance in facilitating the removal of the blacklist status from my device. I understand the importance of adhering to your policies and regulations and assure you of my compliance. I am more than willing to provide any additional information or documentation necessary to support my case.
Please consider my situation with empathy and understanding, and I sincerely hope for a positive outcome. Your support in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Warm regards,
Hasnat Ahmad

Thank you Maria, for your prompt response. I purchased the device from a local seller in Pakistan approximately 12 days ago. I purchased a brand new box pack and this device is activated myself. Attached is the receipt for your reference. Your assistance in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated.

Hi, unfortunately you're out of luck. A Verizon phone cannot be unlocked unless it has been used on Verizon's network for 60 days, and the network is only in the US. There is a common misperception that a Verizon phone is going to unlock itself after 60 days no matter what, but this is not true. I believe this policy is leading crooks to target Verizon phones for shady purposes, and sadly, I've seen many threads in these forums from people overseas who ended up buying a Verizon phone which is useless since there is no way to use the phone on Verizon's network there. Your best bet is to get a refund from the seller.

But how it's possible. I have purchased a box pack Apple phone, and confirmed phone is non-active from Apple website. Then how Verizon can lock the sim? I did not know much about this strategy but this matter is exacerbating the issue for me. The seller is also not refunding me, too. The only thing is that Verizon can resolve this issue and help me get out of this problem. I humbly request Verizon Official should lift this restriction

The way this happens is, your phone was meant to go to someone else originally. But it was lost or stolen while being shipped. When the first person never got their phone or they received an empty shipping box, Verizon reported the phone lost/stolen and shut it off (blacklisted). Meanwhile, the phone ended up overseas and someone sold it to you to make some fast money. Sorry to hear that the seller won't refund you.

If you're experiencing issues with Verizon's mobile services and haven't found a satisfactory resolution through Verizon's customer service, you may consider filing a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
