Ever since I upgraded to version 16 I can only get SOS only service. I’m not happy paying for service I’m not getting.

No it didn't help. I'm paying for service I'm not getting. I had to download an app in order to communicate with family while at work. I work just 1/4 mile from I-95 with lots of shopping all around. I'm about to switch carriers.

Verizon is a disaster. I've been with them over 20 years. I feel your frustration. I just received a new iPhone 14, and it's nothing but problems. They quadruple charged me for the mobile protect ($200 instead of $50). Can't make calls or text. Had to place the original order via text, and the guy misled me on multiple charges. Hours and hours on chats and calls. I have 4 lines with them, my home internet, and my business lines and internet. They just can't resolve anything, and they obviously can't compensate me for my lost time, and awful attitude I end up having at home due to the aggravation. No wonder my VZ stock has been in the garbage. All to have someone come on here and write how they'd be happy to help you, and sorry for your problem.
I too am having this issue and ever since I upgraded to IOS 16 my phone reception is absolutely horrible. In fact I just had to walk outside my office just to get service for my two step verification process to sign in so that I could participate in this chat. I am so frustrated with this issue!

Running into the same issue. Brand new iPhone 14 and brand new plan. Most of the day I have zero service and/or SOS for my data signal. Is this an issue with the phone or your 5G service? Please help! Did not have this issue with my iPhone XR with 4G.
Same SOS issue with iphone 13 Pro. SOS appears and CALL FAILED over and over again. I spent most of the day on the phone Friday with Verizon and it isn't fixed. So frustrating.
Just got my new Iphone 14. Switching from my 12. Everything is moved over except I can't make calls since it's in SOS mode. A lot of posts with this problem. I guess Verizon doesn't care.

Unable to make/receive calls and this is after experiencing a week of “no sim”
In reading others in this thread, sounds like there is a larger issue at hand, that needs to be reviewed.
Just the same, please help as this phone is primary method of communication.
I did the 16 update and now my phone stays on SOS only. I can’t call or text. The Cerizon customer service rep said Verizon was doing construction and my account was flagged. When will this be fixed? Also, when will I be reimbursed for all my dropped calls?

I have been having this exact issue for days now! I’ve called multiple trying to get my phone fix, fail. Nobody seems to know what’s wrong or how to fix it. I only had Verizon for 2 weeks and I am completely turned off by this company, by far the worse service I even had. At this point I just want my service suspended and a new carrier, ASAP! Paying $100+ for a phone I cannot use is ridiculous!

I’m having the same issue and I’m getting the same run around with the customer service reps.
Same here been on the phone all day, thinking I did something wrong, getting same scripted responses, transferred to different reps, and different chats. 7 plus hours. An entire day wasted. If someone had been honest up front I could’ve go about my day and not wasted it on the phone being aggravated. They say it will resolve in 24 hours. Does anyone believe this or had any real luck?

Having the same issue. I went from having amazing reception at home to sos only. all the Verizon phones which is 4 at home can no longer use them. I’m about to switch companies. This is ridiculous. I’m paying 260 a month for nothing

I have been talking to Verizon and they are SO UNHELPFUL. I just bought this SIM card kit and all I’m getting is SOS and a non working phone. They say they can’t do anything unless I factory reset my phone. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WIPE MY IPHONE TO GET SERVICE WORKING. I’ve had 8 US SIM cards in the past and it’s never been an issue with other companies. Pretty pathetic
Absolutely ridiculous. Paid for this SIM card and month of service and nobody can help me out with it. YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WIPE YOUR IPHONE TO GET SERVICE TO WORK. Pretty pathetic and Verizon employees are useless with solving the problem.

Hey everyone -Clearly there are things that the Verizon employees are not supposed to say or acknowledge publicly on these forums. As a customer who has been frustrated about this for months, I thought I should share what I learned.If you push hard enough in private, they'll admit that the problem is with the upgrade the 5G. Verizon is taking older hardware off their towers, meaning that in some places the 3G/4G coverage is getting spottier faster than the 5G is getting reliable. Our local Verizon store even has physical signs to this effect posted because so many people are coming in complaining.
It is certainly frustrating to see your service get worse after being a loyal customer for decades. After spending hours "troubleshooting my phone" they finally lowered my bill a little as an implicit apology for the network quality.
They are absolutely useless. Have been on the phone for over two hours and unable to get my service working. Shows SOS at the top and they say they can’t do anything for me unless I reset my phone to factory settings. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO RESET MY PHONE TO FACTORY SETTINGS TO GET A SIM CARD TO WORK. Have never ever had this problem with other companies. Waste of 50$ and nothing they will do for me.
