Someone is texting from my number

On two occasions this week, someone is sending text messages from my phone number that I did not send. I don’t want to get a new phone number

1. Can I identify where these texts are coming from?

2. Do I need to get spoofing software To make it stop? If so, what one?

3. Is there anyway to stop it for free?

4. Are there any settings on my phone that I can change to prevent this from happening in the future?

I don’t trust my email or phone. I became aware when I saw 2 texts in my feed that I did not send
