Upgrading

I would at this minute be upgrading my IPhone 13 Pro Max if I didn’t have to change plans.  Not sure why changing plans is a requirement?  I love my current plan and love the perks. Guess I gotta just gotta realize that a new phone is not in my near future.

Needing to be on the highest level postpaid plan is an industry practice for "get a phone" deals from my experience.  Even a certain budget carrier who is huge in my area has the requirement that you must use the fanciest plan in order to qualify for phone upgrades.

Since you're a postpaid customer, maybe you can buy a phone through Verizon and pay in installments?  It would not be a "free phone" or "trade-in" deal, but just paying over time for a new phone?   I'm prepaid, so can't tell you for sure since prepaid customers have to "prepay" for everything.

Another option is to buy a factory unlocked phone directly from the manufacturer.  Just looked at Apple.com as an example, and there's a financing option to get an iPhone.
