Verizon says my iPhone 14 is unlocked but under
iOS 18.2.1 Settings > General > About
it reports
Carrier Lock SIM locked
I called and spoke with a Verizon CSR to unlock and she said that she "tried 3 times", and that the system shows the handset as unlocked. The handset itself still reported "Carrier Lock SIM locked".
After that I deleted the eSIM, rebooted the handset, and left it connected to my home internet connection. I left it connected for a few hours, then rebooted the handset.
The handset still reports "Carrier Lock SIM locked".
What else can I try?
Some background -
The iPhone 14 was purchased new-in-box from Verizon via Walmart.com in November, 2024.
I activated the handset on 11/12/2024.
I set up my account with Verizon.
The handet was fully paid off in 2024.
The handset no longer has active service with Verizon. (I cannot log into my account.)
The account balance is Zero.

Hello! We'd love to see what is going on with this phone's lock today. We're sending you a Private Note where we can discuss this in more detail.
