I have been with Verizon for 6 years w/o issue. Why all of a sudden w/o any changes to my iPhone, I lost service in my home but I have service elsewhere?

Do you have a 3rd party Wi-Fi source in your home? I have seen posts from iPhone users reporting issues with not being able to use their phones at home but if they were elsewhere things were OK. One person finally figured out their home internet router's Wi-Fi was interfering with their iPhone and when they got newer equipment from their ISP, fixed the problem. This can easily be tested by simply disconnecting and shutting down your home internet equipment to see if your phone then works.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
