We have been Verizon customers and stockholders for about a few decades, but maybe that is all about to change when a rep at the local store tells me a brand new and unlocked Apple Iphone SE (1st generation) can't be activated.

Well as I understand it, Verizon is selling this model from time to time online and according to their support files, all versions after 5 are serviceable. So this brand new and unlocked Apple Iphone SE (1st generation) the equivalent of a version 9, can and will be serviced? Verizon should verify this comment and respond. Now is the time for a real good salesperson to assure me they value long-time customers who pay their wages.

The alternative is to take that short jaunt to the T-mobile or a host of other providers, each located at a store 100 feet away from each other, dump Verizon and sell my stocks. I'd like a Verizon Manager to step up and defend my patronage by activating my phone and firing reps who say they can't service perfectly serviceable phones.

Hi, unless what I found online elsewhere is wrong, the first generation iPhone SE came out way back in 2016, which makes this pretty much a dinosaur phone and I'd be willing to bet that's why it can't be activated because it is no longer compatible with current network technology.

As an aside, the 1st gen iPhone SE also doesn't support mmWave 5G, so if you have a service plan with 5G UW access, even if the phone could be activated, you might have a problem of not having internet connection any time the phone picks up 5G UW signal (if your area uses mmWave for 5G UW service; not all areas do so).

The great news is that as long as a phone is HD Voice compatible, it will be compatible with our network, and the iPhone SE (1st gen) is HD Voice compatible. While it's true that the phone won't pick up the 5G network, as SynthpopAddict pointed out, it will still be able to connect to our LTE network.
