I am so unbelievably disappointed and upset with this carrier. Over a month ago, I called in to tech support because my brand new iPhone 15 hotspot and internet were not working. I’ve had nothing but connectivity issues with that phone since I purchased it. I called in and spoke to a technician and went through 100 troubleshooting steps and determined I needed a new phone. I pay for the outrageous insurance so I just opted to have a new phone sent, rather than going through repair. I was aware of the $49 replacement charge and accepted that to expedite having a working phone. I was told I would be receiving an iPhone 16 instead of the 15 because they were obsolete now. When the phone came in the mail 2 days later, it was a 15. At the time, TikTok was banned and we were unable to download it on new devices. I opted to send the replacement phone back and seek repair to keep my favorite app for the time being. I called in and after almost 2 hours on the phone, being browbeaten into purchasing additional insurance coverage I didn’t want, I was transferred 7 times before finally speaking to someone who helped me. They claimed to have reversed the $49 charge then. I sent the phone back and thought nothing of it until I look at my bill and see it’s almost $400 and it included the $49 replacement fee. I called customer support. After being hung up on before I could even speak to the agent, I called back. I explained the issue to the agent and they put me on hold and came back and said unfortunately there was nothing they could do, the charge was valid. I flipped out—without using foul language—and demanded a supervisor. I had to get hateful in order to even be transferred to a supervisor. After losing my temper I was informed by the supervisor that she was indeed able to reverse the charge. My issue is, why does Verizon seem to train their agents to LIE, CHEAT, and STEAL FROM HARDWORKING AMERICAN CUSTOMERS? We pay an outrageous amount each month for services that only work if the weather is perfect and you hold your nose just the right way!!! And every time you turn around, they are lying about the phone they’re sending, they’re lying about reversing charges, they’re lying about not being able to reverse the charges, they’re trying to force you into buying something you don’t want and you have to yell at them because they are so pushy they won’t take no for an answer and then they transfer you 37 times. It’s bad enough that it takes at minimum five minutes of yelling at the automated system to actually get to speak to a human being. Verizon is crooked, shady, sketchy, overpriced ****, and if I had any other option for a different carrier in my area, I would have already canceled my phone lines. I’m actually contemplating moving so that I have other options. Do yourself a favor, leave Verizon before they cheat you and screw you over too. And also I’m not lying or making any of this up. They record every single phone call so they have proof that their agents have lied to me time and time and time again literally every time I call and speak to someone they are lying to me about something. This is absolutely unprofessional, unethical, and unacceptable.
