Voicemail Notifications delay. Apple IPhone

I have had an open thread with Verizon and Apple for over 6 years about this problem. Even with a new IPhone 14 pro the problem still exist.

This issue is most likely on the Verizon network, but unfortunately no one is held accountable at Verizon. This is called defussion of responsibility. When organizations get too large this is the byproduct.

Unfortunately, this has been reported to Verizon by thousands of people over the course of 6 years. Nothing has been fixed.

Escalate both of these threads to the system engineers responsible for the Verizon network voicemail. They are clearly failing at their job or maybe they are so disconnected from the users that they are not aware of the problem.

I find it unbelievable that this has to be reported so many times. Your company is failing the people that pay for the salaries of the employees that are not being held accountable.

voicemail notifications are not under the users control.. this is on your network.

The voicemail for the iPhone is through the Apple servers not the Verizon servers. It also likely needs an active connection to the Verizon network to ping the server to request any new notifications of a new voicemail.

Voicemail notifications are triggered by Verizon not Apple.

Voicemail is a carrier feature. The voicemail is on your carrier's servers, and they send the notification.

Verizon can verify this as well.

Same problem here. Utterly ridiculous. How am I supposed to conduct business under these conditions?

I am having this same issue. Just today, I had someone leave a voicemail from a call at 3:15 PM. I didn't receive the voicemail until 10 PM. I'm not talking about the notification. I'm talking about it visually showing up in my voicemail. That was the first time I knew that the person had left a voicemail. This is happening a lot. Why is there such a delay?

Unfortunately Verizon and Apple don’t really care about this issue.

They don’t understand… voicemail notifications are NOT under the users control. There is absolutely no reason we should even have to post this error. The users do not have the option to adjust the notifications for voicemail. If Verizon or Apple had a fix they would post it publicly here for everyone to use. Their silence speaks for itself. This is prime example of what happens when organizations get too large to fail. They fall into a pattern of defussion of responsibility and no one is held accountable. To the Verizon admins… here is the number to Apple 1800MYAPPLE… pick up the phone and open an enterprise case directly with them. Once you have a solution push a carrier update or IOS bug fix. You can communicate this publicly on this thread.

Thankfully this thread is ranked fairly high on Google and everyone can clearly see Verizon’s/Apple’s incompetence.

Still happening April 2024. Threads in this forum going back 9 years! Had important voicemail delayed 10 hrs today. Why can’t this be fixed in public view instead of so many private notes and no solution available ?

So., Verizon can stop blaming old iPhones. I’ve got a 15 Pro, it’s now December 2024 and v/m’ are received and notified from 1 hour to 3 days or more after they were sent. Apple says not them, Verizon is to blame. This seems to be rare with other carriers.
