Yes, I have been a loyal customer for 16 years. I live in Western North Carolina and Hurricane Helene just ravished our community. While going through this devastating event our phone went into SOS, we were land locked and no way to reach out to our loved ones to see if they were ok. No one knew if we were safe as with many others. During this you turned my phone off because I had no way to make the payment/payment arrangement because we had no phone or internet. Verizon was the last to restore our phone which was (7) days without service and I know you did not suspend the cost of being without for those days. You shut my phone off during a natural disaster and a state of emergency. We are now in 14 days of recovery and we have zero internet service and no information on when it may be available. We still have areas where we are in SOS with our phones. I cancelled my internet with you today and as soon as my (3) phones are paid off and unlocked I plan to change carriers. Obviously money is more important than humanity. I can not understand why there are zero answers on when service can be restored and why Verizon was the last ones to provide us service. The local Best Buy provided the people of our community internet in order for people to be able to reach out to their loved ones so people could know they were safe. To this day which is (2) weeks later, neither of your Verizon stores (Waynesville,NC) are open, they did not try to help during this most terrifying time and they are still not. Guess what I cannot reach my family now at my house the phones are in SOS once again. Thank you and I will make sure to pay my bill for no reason on the 16th of this month.

You have my sympathy, but cell phone towers need electricity to operate, as does internet infrastructure which the cell phone towers are routing internet access requests to. And that's assuming the local towers didn't get blown down or the equipment mounted on them wasn't damaged by flying debris. Or buildings housing the servers for your local internet hub weren't flooded out.
You may be exempted from your bill this month per this press release:

I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
